Per me la tazza o mug rappresenta la mia cultura inglese di prendere il tè o caffè durante una pausa tra un lavoro e l’altro. Durante quest’emergenza insegno online agli studenti universitari, per cui ho dovuto aprire la mia casa agli altri, e mettermi in gioco. Durante le lezioni, creo dei gruppi che si staccano per dieci minuti dal gruppo principale. In questi momenti, mi alzo, accendo il bollitore e mi faccio una bella tazza di tè o caffè lungo. Mi godo un momento di spensieratezza, di silenzio con me stessa, anche per staccarmi per un breve periodo dallo schermo (molto stancante per la vista). Chiudo gli occhi, prendendo la tazza in mano e ascolto i rumori che mi circondano. Sto bene in questo momento. ENJOY TODAY, le parole scritte sulla tazza significano GODITI OGGI. Ed è proprio quello che faccio tutti i giorni da quando sono costretta a rimanere a casa in questo periodo di lockdown. Sento che avrò nostalgia di questo periodo in cui siamo costretti a ri-inventarci, ai conoscerci, a superare i nostri limiti e le nostre paure. Mi sto proprio godendo questo periodo. Tre o quattro volte al giorno prendo in mano la mia tazza che, ormai, mi accompagna in questo nuovo viaggio. Grazie, Thank you my dear and Trusty cup!!

For me, the cup or mug represents my English culture of having tea or coffee during a break between one job and another. During this emergency, I teach college students online, so I had to open my home to others, and get involved. During the lessons, I create groups that break away from the main group for ten minutes. In these moments, I get up, turn on the kettle and make myself a nice cup of tea or long coffee. I enjoy a moment of light-heartedness, of silence with myself, even to detach myself for a short time from the screen (very tiring for the view). I close my eyes, taking the cup in my hand and listen to the noises around me. I’m fine at the moment. ENJOY TODAY, the words written on the cup mean ENJOY TODAY. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing every day since I was forced to stay home during this lockdown period. I feel that I will miss this period in which we are forced to re-invent ourselves, to get to know each other, to overcome our limits and our fears. I’m really enjoying this period. Three or four times a day I take my cup in hand, which now accompanies me on this new journey. Thank you, Thank you my dear and Trusty cup!!
